So, as I mentioned, it’s one month later and I’m on my way to LA for the American Music Awards as I write this from the plane! It has WIFI...anyone want to skype right about now?
Recently, it feels that every time I get on a plane I’m sitting close to a “cougher”. I don’t think that I am much of a germaphobe, but people who cough /sneeze around me give me the heeby geebies! All I can picture are germs with ugly little faces and claws floating out from their mouth and nose, and coming right for me as I inhale them. I believe that if you are ill, it would be a great courtesy to dawn a mask for those around you lol.
We landed in LA and drove through typical LA traffic. Which if you don’t know can take a very long time, as there are so many people and traffic jams. And...based on the traffic alone, I don’t know if I could live here! You have to drive everywhere, imagine me behind a wheel in that scenario. Side note: I believe I was a race car driver (a very good one) in another life. I think the roads are meant to be driven without restrictions or barriers and not resemble a massive parking lot. Regardless, its still a thrill to be here and luckily, I had a great book to read. It’s super funny, it’s called “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin.
I was very excited when we finally checked into the hotel, which has the absolute best and most comfy beds EVER!!!! I mean EVER. Last time I stayed in this hotel, it was on the Amsterdam trip and I was disappointed that I only had 2-3 hours to enjoy the awesome beds. I'm willing to buy the whole set up for my home. I shall savor the 3 night’s sleep I get here.
As soon as we arrived, I ran over to Whole Foods to buy healthy foods and stock up on some needed items. Whole Foods have so many options to make good choices at their fresh salad bars and prepared food sections. I actually found poached chicken breast and salmon. I came back to the hotel, packed my cooler with the food I bought and then drove off with the rest of the entourage to the Nokia theatre for stage rehearsal. Wow...I’m part of an entourage! (That just dawned on me).
When we got to the rehearsals, I was able to catch a few performances. I saw The Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado & Timbaland, and Alicia Keys & Jay-Z’s performances. I can’t wait to see the full show!
After rehearsals, I went to the gym for a workout on hamstrings, back, and abs. I’ve been trying to keep up with my workouts while being on the road. It’s been very hard to find the time to get in a workout, but when I do my day just seems more complete so I pushed for a full workout today.
In the evening, we had a surprise birthday dinner for one of the managers. It was lots of fun, but I was excited to finally get back to my cozy retreat. Tune in for news on the actual show.
