DIARY OF A CELEBRITY PERSONAL TRAINER: Vancouver Olympics 2010

This is Day 7 of 17 total that I'll be on the road for this part of tour. After Miami, and a quick stop to Toronto I've arrived in Vancouver. I have been here for a couple days so far and the energy of the people is wonderful. This is a picture of the Vancouver Olympic Village. It's buzzing with people (although I have to admit, this particular photo is from the Vancouver 2010 website) More of my own photos to come.

Last night, we all went for sushi and it was divine. I ordered tuna and sockeye salmon sashimi...simply melted in my mouth. Officially best sushi ever. I could definitely eat there every night.

I certainly got more sleep last night without the hotel DJ blaring tunes till 2am, like in Miami. Slept like a baby. This morning I woke up @ 7:30am Pacific time. I figured it's early enough to enjoy an espresso and not be kept awake till tomorrow. So it was a very nice treat...yes yes I know, I broke my “only in Italy” vow to drinking espresso.

As I was crossing the street to go to Blenz Coffee (Canadian owned), I looked to my left and saw the mountains filling the sky between the skyscrapers, how wonderful would it be to see that everyday.

So I went down to the gym to workout and was incredibly humbled. OBVIOUSLY, there are a lot of Olympic athletes staying @ the same hotel, working out...sans shirt!!! Some of the most beautiful, functional bodies I have ever seen. Inspiring to say the least. They were doing the craziest workouts that seemed to defy physics.

After taking care of my client with workouts and meals, I did a bit more shopping for meal plans. I’m forgetting we are still in Canada and I keep wanting to covert the prices to Canadian dollars. lol

Later, after I returned from Whole Foods, I visited the The Yoga studio http://www.yyoga.ca/ across the street. It is absolutely the most amazing studio I have ever been to, to say the least. For starters, it is massive and holds various classes at once. I believe there are 3 studios running simultaneously. Each door to the studio's has a name; last night I went into Fire (hot yoga) I also spotted Wind and Earth. Overall, it was super clean, beautiful and very efficiently run. Plus, all the classes have a very limited capacity as to not crowd your neighbor.

Check out the pictures on facebook

The night came to a close and I did a bit of computer work and trained shoulders. For some reason I was still awake (prob due to my java this morning)....ce la vie!

I cannot wait to see what the rest of the trip brings. Truly, a once in a lifetime experience.

Maggie
